INTERVIEW WITH LARISSA REED

Larissa was born and bred in Gymea Bay and returned to live in the Shire five years ago.

She has a detailed knowledge of the area and its community.

What, in your opinion is the key to successfully marketing a property?

The key is understanding the priorities of the seller as well as the type of market they are going to be selling to. The marketing package should be tailored for each property to ensure it has the right mix of elements to appeal to the target market, while still being affordable for the seller. I review the marketing of my properties weekly to ensure they are effective, and tweak or modify them as required during the course of the campaign if necessary.

What is the most challenging aspect to being a real estate agent?

Overcoming the negative stereotype that real estate agents have. I am on a mission to prove that most of us are honest, caring and ethical.

What makes you different to other real estate agents?

I work in Real Estate because I am obsessed with property, not just because it’s a job. I don’t see myself as a salesperson but as a match-maker and problem solver. My primary focus  is to help sellers achieve their goal to move house, and buyers achieve their goal of finding their perfect home.

Can you outline a “Day in the Life of Larissa Reed”:

 Every day is different, but most days I would meet with someone to discuss selling their house, answer loads of emails and phone calls from buyers, spend some time keeping my social media up to date and making phone calls to my current vendors and future sellers. I do a lot of running around showing houses, meeting with valuers and pest and building inspectors when I’ve sold a house, and of course, my favourite part of the job, putting up sold stickers with my buyers.

When, do you believe, is the best season / month to sell a home?

I honestly don’t think there is a best time of year to sell. I believe that if you get the pricing strategy, presentation and promotion right, you can get a top price for your house at any time of year.
