Valuations - Tips & FAQs

What is the difference between a market appraisal and a valuation?
There is a big difference. We have dedicated a section in our website to identifying the difference between an appraisal and a valuation.

What fees are charged for valuations?
Fees are primarily dependant on the time taken to complete the inspection, investigation and report. Time taken depends on the complexity of the valuation, location, property type, report purpose and value range. After discussing the individual details with the client we can usually provide a fixed fee quote before being requested to proceed. Some complex valuation work can only be charged on a time basis.

How do I go about ordering a valuation?
Ordering a valuation is a very simple process. Please contact us if you wish to order a valuation.

How long does it take to complete a valuation?
Valuations involve site inspection, investigation and report preparation. Site inspection involves obtaining access to the property internally and externally so that a full inspection can be carried out. Investigation includes obtaining all other information necessary to be included in the report and arrive at the valuation amount. The Report will contain the obtained from inspection, the information gathered that is necessary for valuation consideration, qualifications and disclaimers depending on the extent of the valuers knowledge. Some valuations take longer than others. Discuss your time constraints with the valuation dept and we can usually accommodate your needs.

What Qualifications do your valuers have?

We have memberships with the Institute of Consulting Valuers, the Australian Property Institute and the Valuers Chapter of the Real Estate Institute. We remain up to date with all industry related matters. We have dedicated a section in our website to providing a profile of our valuers.
